Cat’s Cradle is a first-person puzzle-like exploration game in which the player takes the role of an amnesiac astronaut and explores the chemical experiments of a top-secret military complex. Their goal? To recover memories that may point to a connection between the events of the Cold War and the future.
Gameplay and Style:
Cat’s Cradle features an innovative mechanic in which you unravel complex puzzles using reflection. As you explore, your consciousness follows the white lines that your memories leave on the walls, and the game dynamically updates your reflection based on what you see in front of you. Some of the scenes in the game may seem like cutscenes, but they’re actually one-way interactions with the game’s world. You play as the amnesiac astronaut as they unlock different sections of the facility in order to discover more about the military’s true agenda.
The game will run and update with the most recent build.
This will be made publicly available once I submit the build and I feel that all the pieces of the puzzle are ready for public consumption. Once I’m done with the final version, I will upload a link here.
The soundtrack contains haunting ambient compositions inspired by 1950s science fiction novels and films.

About The Game Cat’s Cradle:
This is the story of two families of scientists working on the fabrication of perpetual motion machines. One family pursues the ultimate goal of “undying” science. The other has stumbled upon a critical discovery, leading to catastrophic consequences. Cat’s Cradle is about a play on the brink of an experiment that could wipe out humanity.
About The Game
Cat’s Cradle is a love letter to the 60s. The story, world and characters are heavily influenced by the legendary science fiction stories of Kurt Vonnegut (The Sirens of Titan, Cat’s Cradle, Timequake and Glore). The soundtrack for Cat’s Cradle by Akio Nakagawa was composed to conjure an era in which hopeful dreams could be fulfilled. Cat’s Cradle is a game where the final outcome is now in the hands of you, the player.

If you load the game up from the Cat’s Cradle Archives (1.3.0), you will see the soundtrack. Use the volume button on your keyboard to adjust the volume.
If you want to share the soundtrack with other players, simply copy the file to a USB thumb drive.
How To Run The Music
When you play Cat’s Cradle, you have two ways to control the soundtrack. You can either select the “Fully Mixed and Stereo” option in the video options to play back in stereo, or you can select the “Only Alternate Sides” option to only play back the songs that you have assigned alternate sides for. You can set the volume level of the soundtrack for either of these options in the video options, by pressing X or Y on the keyboard.
When you play Cat’s Cradle, you can hear a few notes before each game is played. These are notes played to simulate the appearance of cards being pulled from the Cradle before the game begins.
Much of the film’s reception has come from the soundtrack, in much the same way everything else that David Lynch sets his blinders on comes to a screeching halt. This is part of the film’s enduring infamy, for what is Tom Waits singing about if not a sentient creature glued to a life buoy, afraid to come to terms with his loss of daughter, a fount of emotions so difficult, they get in the way?
“Cat’s Away” is such a haunting song, written by Lynn Garrett as a tribute to Mae and Katie. As Cat, her demeanor is that of a person capable of using her past to help the world around her lead to the future.
“I was extremely moved by this song. It is one of the songs that Katie liked as a lullaby (we used to sing it). We wanted to imagine her singing it to herself, and so this song is my tribute to Katie. This song will always be a part of her, and she always sung it for me when she was little. I will be eternally grateful to my dear friend Doug Holmes for making it possible for me to give this song, and this beautiful vision of eternal love, to my daughter.”
The song appears in the film, mixed with Cat’s Cradle music. The score was composed by Angelo Badalamenti in a hodgepodge of guitars, violin and strings that overflows with deep mature emotional chords. The track is layered with vast aural patterns and architectures that converge to segues and crescendos throughout the film. The score was recorded at Rascals in Los Angeles, a rehearsal and recording space that had served as a studio for Woody Allen’s When Woody Met Diane.
In the opening portion of the film, Leonard Cohen sings “So long, Marianne”, which leads to a long slide guitar piece that builds on its own.
“Flashbulb”, the first piece in its original form, was played shortly after the opening of the film in a dark space as the voice of Cat’s Cradle said, “Cat’s asleep.”
In later years, the Lost Highway soundtrack, which includes Angelo Badalamenti’s score to that film, included the original song track “Cats Away” that Lynn Garrett wrote for the film, originally in the form of a lullaby spoken by CATS’ lead singer as played by Joe Dallesandro. Dallesandro also sang
